A liked picture, meaningful back and forth conversation, and two individuals with open hearts on Hinge. At the time, Samantha was finishing up her bachelor’s degree at ASU, while Marquis was working as a flight instructor, building hours toward his goal of becoming an airline pilot. Their shared values, passion for travel, and adventurous spirits all contributed towards that initial spark. After weeks of messaging, they finally decided to meet in person — and ended up talking so long over drinks at Culinary Dropout that they closed down the bar.

From there, Samantha and Marquis’ love unfolded slowly. Their days started to incorporate one another into them. Movie nights, new restaurants, grocery shopping — in the midst of the every day, Samantha and Marquis fell in love.

Throughout the last couple of years, Samantha and Marquis’ relationship grew exponentially through their love of travel. Experiencing the rich culture of Japan, the bustling streets of London, the paradise that is the Philippines, the diversity of Australia, the history of Lisbon — all of their travels have allowed the two to look at life in a way that appreciates all different kinds of perspectives.

Along with their fur baby, Captain, Samantha and Marquis are overjoyed to begin this new phase in their lives along with each and every one of you.
